THREE WEEKS’ GAOL
intoxicated motorist By Telegraph—Press Association DANNEVIRKE, January 30. As a sequel to a shopping night sensation in the main street, Timothy Augustus Teaham, farmer, Tiratu, was sentenced to three weeks’ hard labour for being drunk in charge of a car. His license was cancelled and he was prohibited from driving for two years. When attempting to leave a parking stand near the Masonic Hotel, his car mounted one footpath, swung off on to another, and crashed into an Island window of the D B A. Building, wrecking it. It then proceeded along the path until it collided with a telegraph pole. Nobody was hurt, but one or two had narrow escapes.
