WOMEN’S DIVISION

FAIR LIE BRANCH At the monthly meeting of the Fairlie branch of the W.D.F.U., Mrs Goulter presided over a good attendance of members. Congratulations were extended to Mrs A. Barton on her success at the recent aria competitions in Dunedin.

Invitations were received from the Ashwick Flat Institute and from the Cannington branch of the W.D.F.U., to be present at their birthday parties. Arrangements were made to hold a short discussion at each meeting on some topic of Interest. It was decided to send a further donation to the community chest.

Mrs Hall demonstrated basket making and Mr O’Reilly gave a very Interesting talk on potatoes. Votes of thanks were passed to both Mrs Hall and Mr O’Reilly. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs Jones, who was the hostess for the day.
