FRINGES IN AGAIN
The artists in coiffure are experimenting in new ways with the fringe, which is returning to fashionable heads, states a London writer. There are heavy fringes which proclaim the mode, firmly, and light fluttering ones that merely indicate the cult, and there are some really original varieties which are best left to the expert to manipulate Sometimes the fringe is brushed half-way from the crown almost to the eyebrows. Other arrangements start far back and reveal much forehead. In all cases the hair is brushed upwards, even at the sides. One new Antoine coiffui’e has a very unusual fringe crossing in the centre —one piece drawn under the other. This has a narrowing effect, which accords with some of the new millinery. Another attractive side-parting gives the impression of a small side-fringe consisting , of circling-curls. This style is light and generally becoming. The smart woman is permitted to show her ears again. It is a charming idea to have a curl brushed back behind the ear and then brought forward.
