Leaping into a- high-powered motor car and ignoring a fusilade of bullets fired by the police, two masked robbers escaped with £BOO worth of tobacco and cigarettes from D. Cohen’s tobacco store in Swan Street, Richmond, this morning. Whether any shots took effect is not known. The police had hidden in the vicinity of the shop owing to a mysterious message received by an employee last week, stating: “Your shop will be raided over the week end.”
