A. AND P. ASSOCIATION A meeting of the committee of the Mackenzie County Agrictural and Pastoral Society was held on Friday, Mr D. Fraser presiding over a good attendance. The Fairlie Bowling Club granted the use of seats on the usual conditions. The Timaru Agricultural and Pastoral Association forwarded the conditions governing the fat lamb competition and asking for a donation toward the prize funds. It was decided to donate the sum of £2/2/-. - The Fairlie Golf Club applied for permission to construct several new sand bunkers on the links. On the recommendation of the Grounds Committee who had inspected the proposed position of the bunkers, permission was granted. Mr J. Barron was elected a member of the Society. The prize schedule for the forthcoming show was revised and a number of alterations and additions made. Two classes were added in the pony section. Maiden pony under 14 hands and under to be ridden and to be driven. It was decided to cut out the trotting competition in harness and to add a saddle class for unhoppled pacers. In the pony competitions it was decided to add a bending competition for children, the Light Horse Committee to draw up conditions. A number of minor alterations were made to the vegetable classes. In the miscellaneous classes additional classes were added eligible only to non-first prize winners at a previous Mackenzie show. New classes were added in the wool section, half-bred hogged, threequarterbred Merino hogget, cross-bred hoggets. A suggestion was made to the Grounds Committee to provide for cover for grain exhibits and benches on which field roots could be exhibited.
