CAMBRIDGESHIRE STAKES United Press Association—By Electric Tel egraph —Copyright LONDON, October 31. At Newmarket to-day the principal event was the Cambridgeshire Stakes, one of the chief handicaps decided annually in the autumn. The result was:— Cambridgeshire Stakes A handicap of 25 sovs each, with 1000 sovs added. Second horse to receive 300 sovs. and third horse 100 sovs from the stake. One mile and a furlong. Wychwood Abbot, Mr O. V. Watney’s b c by The Black Abbot— Sweet Hainault, 3 yrs, 8.6 .... 1 Commander Til, Mr A. B. Briscoe’s ch h, by McKinley—Comeritu, 4yrs, 8.4 2 Highlander, Lord Derby’s ch h by Coronach—Scapa Flow, syrs, 8.2 3 Thirty-three horses started. Won by half a length with a short head between second and third. Winner trained by T. E. Leader.
