At the Ascot races to-day, results were:— ASCOT CENTENARY THOUSAND, 6 furlongs. First Division. Closing Time (E. Bartle) 1 Airkloof (Daniels) 2 Phenomenon (Cann) 3 Ten started. Won by a neck, half a neck between second and third. Time—lmin 13sec. Second Division. Keros (Skidmore) 1 The Marne (Knox) 2 Double Bard (Breasley) 3 Thirteen started. Won by a neck, a length and a half between second and third. Movie Star was fourth. Time—lmin 13isec. ASCOT CUP, U miles. Petau (Moran) 1 Sarcherie (Lightfoot) 2 Highway (O’Sullivan) 3 Seventeen started. Won by half a length, a neck between second and third. Excelic was fourth. Time—2min 6sec. The New Zealander Volovont was fourth in the second division of the Cook Handicap. Journey’s End ran poorly in the first division of the same race.
