STORE BROKEN INTO

ATTEMPT TO BLOW OPEN SAFE The Temuka branch of the C.F.C.A. appears to be a great temptation to thieves, as it was again broken into on Saturday night. The miscreants forced an entrance by levering open a rear window, and tried to blow open the safe. The attempt failed, and although the safe was comparatively unr’ unaged, considerable havoc was created in the office by the explosion. In order to have something to show for their night’s work, however, the intruders stole watches and tobacco to the value of between £3 and £4. The crime was discovered when the manager. Mr L. Bussell, arrived at the premises yesterday morning.
