Weather.—Becoming unsettled again soon in districts with a westerly aspect, with rain setting in especially from Taranaki southwards, mainly fair to fine in eastern districts, but some showers later accompanying a southerly change. Conditions in Tirnaru. Ideal summer weather -was experienced in Tirnaru on Saturday morning and all followers of sport were optimistic. At 2 o’clock, however, storm clouds gathered in the south and a keen southerly wind made its appearance. The promised rain held off until 6 o’clock and then a heavy shower was experienced. The rain continued throughout the night and at Tirnaru Park yesterday morning 22 points had been registered. The sun shone brightly throughout yesterday but a keen easterly wind made its presence felt.
