R. A. RODGERS

INTERESTING EXHIBIT The firm of R. A. Rodgers, South Canterbury’s oldest-established cycle and motor-cycle traders, have their customary exhibit at the Show, where old and new friends are invited to call. Founded nearly 30 years ago by R. A. Rodgers, the business originally catered for bicyclists, but it has expanded with the times and now embraces motor-cycles, radio, sports goods, and all other lines which have become associated with the cycle trade. Foremost among the "pedal” cycles handled is the famous 8.5. A., in men’s, women’s and juvenile models. The firm’s own specialty is the “Falcon,” assembled from high-grade British components, and sold on easy terms at a specially reasonable figure. Children’s tricycles and joycycles are another favourite line, and orders are now being taken for Christmas. In motor-cycles, the firm are distributors of the three world-famous makes—B.S.A. and A.J.S. (English) and Harley-Davldson (Canadian). These are available in all models, from light-weight runabouts to racing machines and big side-ear outfits, and the latest type of motor-cycle is a miracle of efficiency and modernity.

In the radio branch the main lines handled are the Atwater-Kent and Gulbransen. which range from mantel models to big all wave sets and radiogramophone combinations. The At-water-Kent is well known as one of the world’s high-grade receivers, and the newest Gulbransens, with single or twin speakers, have reached an equally high standard, its tonal qualities being now a special feature. Demonstrations for either make can be booked at the Show to-day. Tyres, oils, cyclists’ outfits, batteries, lamps, torches, and every conceivable accessory of the highest quality are stocked in endless variety, and an inspection will be welcomed either at the Show or at the shop in Stafford Street South.
