WOOL OUTLOOK
IRREGULAR CONDITIONS IN AUSTRALIA. SYDNEY, May 19. The Weekly Wool Letter in “The Sydney Morning Herald” says: Irregular selling conditions characterised this week's auctions. The catalogues were very miscellaneous. Some later summer and early autumn shorn clips were very unattractive, being heavy in condition, showing vegetable fault and dust. Others were prematurely shown, owing to fly trouble. However, wools in good condition commanded brisk attention, and results compared favourably with the offerings from the same districts last September. The clean cost of average of 64’s topmaking fleece on the floor of Sydney stores in May, 1933, was only 24d, and in June 23d, compared with 29d and 30d this week.
