LAW ON LOTTERIES

SWEEPING CHANGES IN ENGLAND United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received March 27, 7.15 p.m.) LONDON. March 26. The Government’s Betting and Lotteries Bill, which is being introduced in the House of Lords to-morrow, legalises the totalisator on greyhound courses, subject to the limitation of the number of meetings. The law against large scale lotteries like the Irish Sweep will be strengthened by the imposition of new and formidable obstacles against the sale of tickets and the publication of news relating to them, including results, with penalties for both buyers and sellers of tickets.
