ORARI BRIDGE
TENNIS CLUB. The annual tennis dance held in the Orari Bridge Hall proved very successful a large number of people beln = weather favoured the opening of the tennis season at the Orari Bridge tennis court. The president, Miss L. McLean, declared the court open and a tournament was held, the winners being Miss Joyce Ford and W. South. Afternoon tea was provided. SOCIAL EVENING. At the fortnightly social held In the Orari Bridge Hall, there was a good attendance. The lady's prize was won by Miss Ford. For the men’s prize Messrs L. Brown, C. Halward and A. Morris tied, Mr A. Morris proving the winner in the final. Music for dancing was supplied by Miss J. McLean, Mrs Whitney and Mr G. Martin. During the evening the trophies won by the Miniature Rifle Clubs were presented as follows:—Wordsworth Cup, Miss Thelma Rule; Geraldine County Cup, Miss J. McLean 2. Mrs Tagg s trophy, Miss J. McLean. Mrs Pratts trophy, Miss Ford. The club won the Hanmer Morrison Cup for the best aggregate. .... Instead of giving his usual trophy, Mr G. Martin gave a quantity of ammunition. The Valentine Cup given to the Men’s Club by Mr Valentine, waswon by Allan South.
