NAZIS IN AUSTRIA

SUCCESS OF POLICE RAID. United Press Association—By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright (Received October 17, 8.30 pm.) VIENNA, October 16. The police at Linz raided a Nazi resort and a considerable number were arrested after the discovery of elaborate plans for the seizure of the Linz garrison by Nazi storm troops. Those arrested will be charged with high treason. In consequence of pro-Nazi demonstrations arising out of the establishment of police stations at every university to prevent political rioting, the universities of Vienna, Innsbruck, and Graz have been closed indefinitely. Tile police used rubber truncheon* to expel the students, some of whom retaliated with smoke bombs. Many arrests were made.
