TEMUKA DISTRICT ASSOCIATION’S COMPETITIONS.

SENIOR GRADE. Temuka Young Women’s v. Winchester—At Winchester on Thursday the home team opened their account in the senior B grade competition by decisively defeating Temuka Young Women’s team by 18 goals to 7. The visitors quickly opened their score with a good goal by Miss Cain, but the local girls responded by launching a succession of hot attacks which were rounded off by reasonably good goal throwing by the Winchester forwards. who shared the honours evenly. The Winchester trio were very sound in defence, and the visiting forwards were given few opportunities to score. The halftime score was 7 to 2 in favour of Winchester. Mr J. L. White controlled the game.
