United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, September 27. At the wool sales, 10,459 bales were offered, including 5634 New Zealand. About 7555 bales were sold. There was good Home and Continental competition. Withdrawals were less frequent. Rates were unchanged. New Zealand:—Greasy half-bred, top 13d, average 12d; scoureds, “Mt. John,” 19id and 19d. Yorkshire Comment. “The Yorkshire Post," commenting on the fact that wool is above the price obtained for tops, the latter being relatively dearer than the corresponding yarns, says that until some solution is found business will he extremely difficult. The problem of securing a basis of adjustment is very real. It is a difficult matter to secure the recently advanced prices of tops, and it is unlikely to become easier until users generally have more confidence than at present in the ability of wool to retain the higher level recently established.
