SPEEDWAY RIDER'S ESCAPE

BULLET PIERCES WINDSCREEN. United Press Association—By Electrla Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, September 26. Van Praag, the Australian speedway rider, was motoring in London, after flying from the Broxbome aerodrome, when a bullet pierced the windscreen of the car. Van Praag states that if he had not been leaning across the steering wheel to speak to a girl companion, the bullet must have hit him. It apparently came from a fast moving car

which was approaching. The first intimation of the outrage was a shower of glass in van Praag’s face. The police are inquiring.
