LADIES’ DAY AT EPSOM
NO LONG SKIRTS. There was clear demonstration at Ladies’ Day, Epsom, says a Londoner, that women are not all going to wear long skirts even on a summer day, when, the skirts are of no heavier material than chiffon. Most of the skirts were short, and the few long ones were not worn by the best-known women, who may be regarded as being as nearly leaders of fashion as the independent spirit of the day allow r s.
