CRICKET.
M.C.C.’S LAST YEAR’S TOUR. BELATED CRITICISM OF UMPIRES United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, July 21. ‘•The Book of two Maurices,” written by M. J. Allom and M. J. Turnbull, describing the Australian and New Zealand cricket tour, freely criticises Australian umpiring, and gives many instances of bad decisions against the Englishmen. The chief criticism is directed to the match against Victoria, where an umpire insisted that the light was fit to Play. In consequence Gilligan and Duleepsinhji were speedily dismissed, and when the players came in Benson received a stone on the neck and the crowd hissed.
