Roberts 77, P. B. Benham 76, R. Gliddon 76, C. T. Borrell 75, C. Cox 75, A. Maloney 75, Geo. Dosestt 72, T. Kelliher 71, C. Thoreau 70, K. Hammond 68, P. Simmons 67, R. Welsh 66, H. Dossett 63. FOOTBALL. The fr.-st football game at Pleasant Point Domain was contested by Tim.aru High School and Pleasant Point in the junior grade. School had to call on several reserves owing to four or five of their regular players not beingavailable, while the home Club had difficulty to field a full team also. 1 For the first of the season, the game was quite fast. School endeavoured to open up play by back movements, while Point, relying on its forwards, kept play as tight as possible. The first spell was fairly evenly contested. Point, having slightly the better of exchanges, succeeded in scoring a converted try from a forward rush, just before the bell.
On resuming, the home team scored a further try from a smart movement initiated by the half-back. From then on, play was of a very even nature, first one team, and then the other, attacking. School made desperate efforts to equalise scores during the last ten minutes. They set up a series of concerted back movements, which only deadly tackling, particularly by Probert, a promoted fourth-grade player, was successful in stemming. Time left Point winners by 8 to nil. Mr J. Feeley gave general satisfaction as referee. W.E.A. The W.E.A. Study Circle will commence its winter session on Wednesday next.
