FEMININE INTERESTS
American Aerial Policewoman: The first woman in America to have the position of aerial policewoman is Mrs Ulysses Grant McQueen, of Beverley Hills. California. Mrs McQueen's other claims to aerial fame are that she founded and is president of the Women’s Aeronautical Association of California, is chairman of the aviation division of the California Women of the Golden West, originator of last year's Women Air Derby in the United States, and founder and vice-presi-dent of the Women's International Association of Aeronauts. Business Men's Luxury: The tired Berlin ousiness man will soon be able to have a nap included with his luncheon. In the busiest section of the city a lunch-room will ;oe opened in the spring, in win ,h every table will be equipped vv:*h a black velvet curtain which can be at awn around the guest. The seat cap be converted into an easy chair and a ventilator will provide cool r.ir. An alarm clock will warn the guest when it is time to return to nis office. Attractive waitresses, clad -n black silk knickers and blouses, will wait on him. The management of the new enterprise is convinced that the innovation will be a great success, because of the traditi' ial German \abit of following the noon meal with a rap. 1930 Court Gowns: Whatever may be the opinion of longer skirts in general ,there can be no doubt that the style is well suited to the exigencies of Court dress. It is not surprising therefore to find that designs for the 1930 Court gowns submitted to the Queen have full-cut skirts that reach the ground, states the writer. These now officially approved designs are on view at the Lord Chamberlain’s office at St. James’ Palace. There is no change in the official regulations regarding train lengths, feathers, and so on. It is just that fashion has fallen pleasantly i: to lines that suit ceremonial dress. Porcelain white marquisette with fitted bodice embroidered in diamante and pearls is used in one of the debutante’s designs, the embroidered train of the same material having a flesh-tinted lining. The full flouncea skirt touches the ground practically all round. An orchid mauve chiffon Court gown designed for a matron showed the moulded corsage close-fitting bins and full-skirt draperies of the new fashion length. Pale amethyst and diamante embroidery and train of orchid mauve velvet richly embroidered gave the appropriate note of magnificence.
