USES OF WOOL.
BATTLE AGAINST SUBSTITUTES. (United Press Association—By Electrlo T elegraph—Copyright.) ( Received, Auril 7, 7.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 7. At a conference of the Graziers Association of New South Wales, Mr T. H. Tout, in a presidential address, declared that new uses for wool must oe found, such as the creation of finer, lighter and brighter fabrics, which could compete successfully with substitutes. Wool had rested too long on its laurels. “ WAY TO SELL MORE WOOL.” STATE PREMIER’S ADVICE. (United Press Association—By Electrlo Telepro pn —Copyright.) (Received April 7, 10.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 7. Speaking at a luncheon connected with the exhibition of wool products, the State Premier (Mr Bavin) pointed out that the value of the wool in a man’s eight guinea suit was about 11/-. He said: “There is where the reduction should be made to the consumer.” He added that the best way to sell more wool was to sell more wool cheaply to Australians.
