DECISION OF METHODISTS

The General Conference of the Methodist Church of Australasia discussed the question 'of dancing and kindred 'amusements, and re-adopted its ban against dancing, with the addition to the Book of Rules. "That instruction is further given that our church buildings shall not bo used for dancing, neither shall dances be arranged with the object of raising money for church purposes.” This was adopted after a. protest by Dr Sugain, that tho carrying of the motion would cause a great deal of mischief. It was a mistake to try to prohibit one subject. If dancing were prohibited, why not “gambling, card playing, theatre going?
