After travelling 40 miles, Lieutenant Parer’s engin es developed trouble. Ho lauded safely, and sent his companions away to obtain wood for overhauling purposes. While they were away Lieutenant Parer started to overhaul the engine, when, a strong wind overbalanced him, and his legs and feet were caughit in the revolving propeller. H.is big too ivas broken, and both l'eet •sadly bruised. Ho was suffering severely from exposure when his companions returned. They removed him to hospital. Received 11.45 pan., August 4. MELBOURNE, August 4. Lieutenant Parer is badly bruised, but until an examination it is not known whether any bones are broken. Ho states that when he recovers and the machine is fitted with a new propeller, he will make a fresh start.
