EMIGRATION.
BOARD OF TRADE FIGURES. By Electric 'Telegraph—-Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. Received 5.5 p.m., August 4. LONDON, August 3. The Board of. Trade returns for overseas passenger traffic in the first half of 1921, shows a decrease of 23,594 emigrants to places within the Empire and an increase of 4899 emigrants to thq United States, compared with 1920. This is principally due to Irish emigration to America. In the first quarter tlie total outward "balance of oversea passengers for the half year is 01,769, compared with 69,041 for last year, andi 157.779 in the first half of 1913.
