ST. PETER'S CHURCH GIFT SALE.
A highly successful sale of work and gift auction was held in the Parish Hall, Temuka, on Thursday afternoon, iu. aid of the St. Petei's Church funds. The stalls were attractively arranged, and the assortment of dainty and useful articles found ready purchasers. The financial return was just on. £IOO. The stall holders were: Art stall, Mrs lloufcledge, assisted by a bevy of young ladies; work stall, Mrs Airmail, assisted by- Sjis iiayhur. t aiid iurs j-.-'iri iaibot; .jumble stall, Mrs 73; Chapman, assisted by Mrs F. Greeui and Mrs Lee, senr.; produce, Mrs F. Sanders and Mrs G. W. Arnritage'; refreshments, Mrs G. L. Twentyman and Mrs L. Talbot, assisted 'ay a number of young ladies. The stalls were erected by Messrs C. Bates 1 and F. Sanders. During the evening a short but excellent musical programme was gone through, Misses Youugman and Aspinall contributing piano selections, songs being rendered by ?.lisses Mc-Caskill and Comer and Messrs H. Talbot and W- Y- Purchase. At the close of the sale the balance o£ the c;oods were auctioned by Mr W. F. ISvans, after which Mr L. Talbot, on behalf of the church officers, thanked all workers' for their splendid effort in makiug the sale of work a success, also the donors of goods and money for their genej rosity.
