THE S.S. NORFOLK. FIRE STILL"SMOULDERING. Press Association —By Tel. —Copyright. MELBOURNE, Nov. 11. A portion of the s.s. Norfolk's crew has arrived; the remainder is standing by. The fire was discovered early on Sunday morning, forty miles off land, and had a strong hold. All efforts to suppress, it being unavailing, it was decided to beach the steamer, which now lies on a sandy bottom half gutted. The fire is still smouldering.

Received 9 a-m., Nov. 11th. MELBOURNE, Nov. 11. The Customs Inspector reports that the position of the Norfolk is hopeless. She is still burning fiercely.
