TEMTJKA CLUB. The annual meeting of the Temuka Football Club was neld 011 Tuesday night. , There was a fair attendance of members, and Mr J. Hohvell presided. The report referred at length to the successful season of 1909. ' The balance sheet showed a credit balance of_j£B 7s 3d. Receipts amounted to £57 8s 9d, and expenditure £49 Is 6d, the liabilities being nil. The assets of the club amount to £ls 7s 3d. Report and balance sheet were unanimously adopted. Mr Cuthbert, in speaking to' the report, said it was a reflection on the club—it was certainly a scandal—that out of 60 players only about 30 had paid their subscriptions. It was not good enough to expect that the committee could run the club as a charitable aid institution and find fun for these men, and keep the club going by raising funds by way of socials and concerts. The chairman said he was much surprised at the apathy of the players; it was certainly not an honour to be an officer of a club that had defaulting members on its list. It was decided to enforce the rule in future re not picking unfinancial members. After electing 15 members, officers were chosen as follows: —Patron. Mr T. Buxton, M.P.; president, Mr E. James; vice-presidents. Messrs D. Qrant, J. .Hohvell and Dr Crawsliaw; captain, Mr L. Grant; vice-captain, Mr A. W. Smith; treasurer. Mr A. Cuthbert; secretarv, Mr W. Clemens; committee, Messrs W. Spillane, D. Scott, L. Wood, J. McLeod, and F. Surridge; delegates to Rugby Union, Messrs A. Cuthbert and A. W. Smith; to Sports Association, Mr A. Cuthbert; selection committee, caotain, vicecaotaii), and Mr M. Horgan. It was decided that it be a recommendation to the committee to pay the secretary a bonus for his past Services. Mr Cuthbert moved a vote of thanks to thflte- who had assisted the club and for donations during the year. This was carried with applause. Mr Rodgers voiced a complaint on behalf of the "president's team that they were neglected last year, and he hoped the coaches would be available for the juniors as well as the seniors. A vote of thanks was passed to the late secretary,' Mr Spillane, for his services. fubscriptiori? were fixed as follows: eniors ss, juniors 3s 6d, president's 2s 6d. The chairman moved that a letter.of condolence be sent to the widow of the late Mr Radford, ex-secretary.
