TEMUKA NOTES
(From our Own Correspondent.) On Tuesday the little son of Mr Baughan fell from a staging on which his father (the gardener at Green Hayes estate) was trimming some hedges, and sustained a broken arm and dislocated elbow. /The sufferer was attended to hy Drs ltugg and Crawshaw. The child of Mr Gason, Milford, was accompanying his father to the factory in the forenoon, when the horse, he was driving, became fractious near the public school, and the boy fell out, sustaining slight concussion. Some disappointment has been caused by a number of applicants for sections in the Tripp Settlement having left their applications until the last minute, the result being that many who forwarded by the afternoon train on Wednesday were too late, as the closing hour was 4 p.in. on that date. Friday and Saturday promise to be busy days at Temuka. What with the examination of applicants for the Tripp Settlement sections, and the ballot following, it is estimated that the population for these two days will be greatly increased.
