News lias been that Mr Ahdrew Carnegie. the well-known millionaire,' litis agreed to present £3OO to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church fund for a new organ to be built to cost between £6OO and £7OO. O AMARU, September 16. • At a meeting held under the auspices of the Oamaru Chamber of Commerce to discuss the provisions of the Shops and Offices Bi'l, a. motion was carried favouring the universal Saturday half-liolidav. Those who voted against the motion for the most part expressed themselves personally in favour of Saturday but were afraid the change was in advance of the wishes of factory employees and farmers.
