CHALMERS LICENSING APPEAL. Per Press Association., DUNEDIN, September 15. In connection with the Chalmers licensing appeal to the Privy Council, Mr Adams writes to the "Star" pointing out that "the affidavit of the Under-Secretary ' for Justice, in which the latter corrects the affidavit of the late.-jVIr Carew, was not put before the Privy Council. Mr Carew swore in error that Mr.jGraham had been appointed chairman'• of 'the 'Cha'tners ''licensing Committee, whereas there" was' W. such appointment,, though on. appeal, the Judges'intimated that such should be done. The other side, under instructions, decline to allow Mr Waldegrave's affidavit to form part of the record. - Mr Adams intimates that Mr Graham was not concerned in the appeal, and his clients will refuse to^pay costs in the-event of an adverse appeal.
