BURGLARS AT WOHK.

ATTEMPT TO BLOW OPEN A SAFE. Per Press Association. PALMERSTON NORTH, Sept. 12. An attempt was made to dynamite a safe at C. Smith's establishment last night.. Burglars gained admittance through a window by forcing the lock. The report of the explosion was deadened by drapery, the dynamite broke the lock of the safe, but the bolts held, and the contents were found intact. About £4O in cash was in the safe.
