OBITUARY.

Per Press Association. PALMERSTON NORTH, Sept. 12. The death is announced of Mr J. Foster Kells, aged 81 years, a veteran of the Maori mar. He held colonial and Imperial medals, and fought throughout- the Wellington and Wanganui campaigns. He leaves four sons and three daughters.

_ NELSON, September 12. The death "is announced of Mr Walter Ladley, for many years Inspector for Schools at Nelson, and of Mr William Flett, for thirty years rate collector of Nelson, formerly of the police force. Mr Ladley was the finder of the body of Mathieu, one of the victims of the Maungatapu murders.
