MELBOURNE TRAINING NOTES.

(Special to the Press Association.) [Reoeived 12.50 p.m., Nov. Ist. I Melbourne, Nov. 1. The weather was nice and cool this morning for training purposes. Trenton yesterday did the best mile of the season, and this morning was sent two miles at a moderate pace. Ben Bolt, Kingfish, Crossfire, Lancer, Bravo, Lord William, Commotion, Arsenal, Sheet Anchor, Britisher, and Recall, wero out and did serviceable gallops. Trident, Monte Christo, and Hexham wero treated to moderate exercise. Metal was sent a strong gallop and finished well. Mnlua is m splendid condition, and compassed a milo sind a half m splendid stylo. Kitawa did a Rood gallop over the Cup distance. Cyclops spurted a milo finishing well. At Caulfield yesterday, Little John did a splendid performance over two miles. Silvermine and Highland Chief were sent a milo and a half, moving freely. In the Derby, on Saturday, when rounding the home turn, Chesham did not roll Volcano on to the rails, but the latter horse tripped Trident who wna behind. These two had to pull out and go right round the horses.
