(Pbbsb Association Telbgbam.) Wellington, Aug. 8. LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. The Council met at 3 p.m. BIBST HEADINGS. Tho Mining Companies Act Amendment Bill was receivod from the Lower Home and read a first time. Mr Merizies introduced the Pharmacy Act 1880 Amendment Bill whioh was read a first time. COBBUPT PBAOTICES PEEVENTION ACT. On' the motion of Mr Robinson, it was resolved that the Corrupt Practices Prevention Act, 1880 should be so amended that Members of the Council Bheuld be disqualified, m the same caso as the Members of the House. SECOND EBADINO. Tbe Christchurch Cathedral 3quare Bill was read a second time. TBIBD BBADINGS. The Murihinui Native Reserves Grants Bill, the Destitute Persons Act Amendment Bill, the New River Harbor Endowment Bill and the Massey Frauds Indemnity Bill wero read a third time. BILL PASSED.
