CONFERENCE DISMISS APPEAL. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON. July 19. The Racing Conference judges dismissed the appeal by the Rangitikci Racing Club against the decision of the Wanganui District Committee that the Eangitikoi stewards made an error of judgment in dobarirng the horses Yankee jack and Hautawa from starting in the Maiden Hack Race at the Rangitikci Chib’s meeting on March 20. 1920. Tlio race was a. hack race within the meaning of Rule I (Part 1), and the following words in Rule 2 therefore apply-: 'The amount won by any horse in a" flat race, hurdle race or steeplechase respectively shall be estimated separately, and shall not debar such horses from entry, except in the special class of race in which ho has won the amounts.” The judges hold that, being a flat racd, it follows that any stakes won in a hurdle race cannot be taken into account.
