FOUND GUILTY OF THEFT. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH. August 5. At the Supreme Court Ethel Cousins and Percy Pascoe wore found guilty yesterday of theft of a handbag containing money. They were sentenced this morning. Cousins to two years’ and Pascoe to one year's imprisonment. DUNEDIN SESSIONS. DUNEDIN. August 5. At the. Supremo Court, Robert Pobar and Mary Faithful were charged with the theft of an opossum skin rug, valued at £lO. from the Gladstone Hotel. The latter 'pleaded guilty, and Pobar was found guilty of having received stolon property. Sentence in both cases was deferred. An old man named Michael Jones was charged with indecently assaulting a little girl, and on a second count, with committing an indecent act. Accused was convicted on the second count nnd sentenced to two years’ hard labour. George Henry Garland was acquitted on a charge of stealing a wallet, money, and a postal nolo from James William Challis. WELLINGTON SESSIONS. WELLINGTON, August 5. At the .Supreme Court:, Julian Huggins, 61 years of age, was sentenced to 10 years’ iuynisonment for indecent assault on a hoy. Horace Benjamin was found guilty of attempted assault on a hoy, the passing of sentence being deferred. Joseph William Gillespie, charged with assault, was acquitted.
