A STORMY MEETING. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. NAPIER, Feb % e.j A special meeting of the Napier Borough Council was held to-night to consider charges brought by Napier tramwaymen against the tramways manager, and 't was decided to nolo, an inquiry. . The meeting was a stormy one, and partly in committee. On resuming in open council, the Mayor (Mr. H. Hill) moved that Councillor A. M’Garthy (Deputy -Mayor) lie suspended. 'The Mayor refused to accept the aP After Councillor Mulvanah had moved that the police be sent for, as Councillor M'Carthy refused to vacate his seat, a policeman was sent for, arid Councillor Al’Carthy dared the constable to remove him. The constable, however, assisted M'Corthy from his chair. The latter took the constable’s number. and threatened proceedings against both constable and council. Then he left the room, and the meeting terminated shortly after.'
