KILLED BY A SLIP, TEE PEESB ASSOCIATION. WANGANUI, July 21. A fatal accident occurred at Nukuhau, some fifteen miles from Waverloy, on Saturday. The victim was a man ‘named Thos. Sinclair, aged 35, single. Deceased was forming a sheep track 'when a big landslip occurred, burying vhim. Douglas Watt, a horse trainer, and formerly a successful crosa-oountry rider, committed suicide last night. He placed a double-barrelled gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger by means of a necktie attached ,te his foot.. A note left on tho table near tho bed ; stated: “If anybody thinks pr says that Tam a cur for doing this he is a .’ liar, because I have not had a drink, but i will hnvo ono in a few rainjites.” .He -also left a letter addressed to a man named Hitchcock. Deceased was ‘unmarried and . was /About 36 years of age. His relations reside here. A TIMAUU INQUEST. TIMAEU, July 20. The adjourned, inquest on Ernest T. Hill, a cabinetmaker, aged 23 years, • who died oh Wednesday afternoon after what appeared to bo a fit which occurred in tho forenoon, was concluded to-day. Medical evidence on,the. post mortem examination was indecisive, and the stomach has been sealed for analysis, also a small bottle found in the pocket. An overdose of chlorodyne has been suggested as the possible cause of death.
