CYCLING.

THURSDAY’S RACE. The Rovers Cycle Club held a road race to Waitara and back on Thursday afternoon, when there were about nine starters. V. Gunson, on scratch, proved the winner, defeating S. Beauchamp (imin. handicap) by inches only after an exciting finish. These two lads raced neck and neck up the long straight to home, and it was only in the last few yards that Gunson gained the advantage*— His time for the 20 miles was 60min. 57sec., a very creditable performance. By winning on Thursday Gunson annexes the Roebuck Crip, which becomes his property outright. Beauchamp was only the one point lost on Thursday behind tho winner.
