INGLEWOOD.

(Prom Our Own Correspondent.) May I.—The meeting of householders at tho school on Monday night was well attended. Mr. A. F. Thomson was ejected to the chair. Tire committee's report of the year’s work and also the balance-sheet were read. As most of tho different items of interest have been recorded at the time of their happening it is not necessary to report them again. The chairman called for nominations for the new committee, when tho following gentlemen wore nominated; Messrs. Ward, A. F. Thomson, H. Scott, W. Hood, T. A. Kennedy, Geo. H. Taylor, W. E. Henderson, C. Cramer, J. E. Bennett, W. Messenger, Chamberlain, Mnnby and F. Drake. Ballot being taken, the result was as follows: —Thomson 26, Hood 23, Henderson 23, Messenger 23, Scott 22, Kennedy 20, Sutherland 19, Cramer 1 18, Taylor 18, Ward 18, Manby 18, Bennett 10, Chamberlain 5, Drake o. A further ballot between the four who tied at "18,” resulted thus: Manby 13, Taylor 11, Cramer 10, Ward 9. Tho now committee therefore reads: Thomson, Hood, Henderson, Messen§er, Scott, Kennedy, Sutherland, Many and Taylor.

Mr. D, Allen proposed a heary vote of thanks to the outgoing committee, which was seconded by Mr. Lamb, it being carried with acclamation. Mr. Thomson thanked the meeting on behalf of tho new committee. The proceedings then closed.

Mr. G. W. Bennett, onr late worthy and respected Mayor, performed his last public function yesterday in opening the "Black and White Bazaar” in the Parish Hall, in aid of the funds of tho Presbyterian Church. The bazaar was well attended all day, and tho funds flowed in well and steadily. The various stall-holders worked, strenuously to capture any available coin. “Guessing” seemed to be the rage at night. There was weight guessing, ijumber of beans in bottle, length of a coil of wire, etc. Tho still-holders were : Plain stall, Mesdames Parli and Hopson; fancy stall, Mrs. Gibbs and Miss Johnson; doll and toy stall, Mrs. D. Alien and the Misses Allen; Vlie stall, Miss Maekay and Mr. Scott; country stall, Mesdames Virgin and Wilson; gents’ stall, Mrs. Dixon, Misses Curtis and Laing; baby’s stall’ Mesdames Roberts, Cox and Williams and Mias Curtis; afternon tea, Mesdames G. and T. Lindsay; bran tub, Mesdames W. Hanright and Hopson’ The shooting gallery was. very busy! particularly in the evening. The Highland dancing by four wee Scots was very much appreciated, Masters Todd and Johnson and the little MissesTodd and Meston dancing to the nininpof Mr. W. Mather. 1 P y
