A crowded house greeted the new series of films last night, and the standard of excellence being high, the programme will draw good houses on tlio two remaining nights. The first picture is “An Excursion into Wales,” and is without doubt one of the finest, scenic pictures yet exhibited, showing some beautiful waterfalls and rapids. “The Lesson by the Sea" is a dramatic effort that took the bouse by storm last night, and is absorbingly interesting. “The Melbourne Cup" is. of course, a most [mpular picture, and is perfectly clear ami distinct. A Wild West rnmanco figures on the list, named "The Range Riders,” and also proved a most popular item. In the heavier dramatic studies the A.lt. Studio have a masterpiece in '‘Gold is Not AH.” The comics are, ns usual, good mirth- i raising items, and deservedly popular. I The programme will be repeated to- ! night" and to-morrow, and a complete j change will be screened on Saturday. VALDARES ENTERTAINERS. j This talented and mucb-tnlked-of j company of entertainers will open a ' one-night season at the Theatre Royal ; on Monday. Mr. Jules Garrison, the celebrated American player and bis two . Roman maids, who sing and dance in ' a delightful manner, present all that is newest and most original in the world of vaudeville, including Mr. Garrison’s recitation of Kipling's “(innga Gin,” ’ a masterpiece of elocution. Hoggiardn the human billiard table and light and heavy weight juggler, gives a noval and daring entertainment, introducing his Maltese poodles two of the most highly trained dogs that have over toured the Dominion. Miss Diamond Hart sings and dances in a graceful manner, Gertrude Vaano will offer the latest English and American song successes, and Jimmie Mulligan is an American comedian of a high order. The four Valdares are famous on every . continent as the world’s greatest trick ; cyclists, and these graceful and finished performers present an entertainment that is an entire show in itself.
