Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wellington, report : We held our fortnightly sale of wool, skins and hides on December 18, when they offered a large catalogue to a good attendance of buyers. Wool. — Only bag lots offered. Crossbred 4£d to sid, lambs 4sd, half-bred 7*d, pieces 2*d to 3id, locks 2jd to 2*d. Sheepskins. — Inferior sorts were dull of sale, better sorts firm at last sale rates. Crossbred fine 6id to 7d, crossbred 4?d to sjd, crossbred dead 3Jd to 4jd, crossbred shorts 2jd to 4d, crossbred damaged 2d to 2|d, lambs 4jd to 6d, hoggets 4d to osd» crossbred damp 2s 7d to 3s 9id, cross bred salted 3s to 4s 3d, green pelts 9d. Hides. — Prices showed an advance of i about *d. Ox 57-73 lbs s|d to 6Jd. 35-43 lbs 42d to sd, cut and slippy 3gd to s|d, cow 36-48 lbs 4|d to sd, cut and slippy 3jd to 4|d, yearling 4|d, yearling cut 2£d. Calfskins were in very good demand. The price advanced about £d. Best 7fd to B|d, medium 7d, inferior s|d to 6id, dry 3|d. Tallow.— ln casks 22s to 24s 3d, in tins and kegs 20s 6d to 21s.
