SALE OF JERSEY CATTLE.
Mr Newton King yesterday conducted a sale of pedigree and grade Jersey cattle on account of Mr C. Clarke, at his farm, Corbett Road, 801 l Block. Mr Clarke has built, up a choice herd of cattle, and yesterday's sale was held with the object of disposing of some of the young stock, the farm being overstocked. There was a large attendanco of buyers, and bidding for most lots was brisk. Good prices were obtained throughout the sale, as follows: — Lot I—Genoa1 — Genoa Girl,; calved August 18, 1902; dam Madame Dreyfus, sire Magnets Lad — 24£gns. Lot 4— Yearling heifer, calved September 8, 1907; dam Lady Carterton 2nd, sire Mayflower Magnet 2nd — 14gns. Lot s—Yearling5 — Yearling heifer, calved November 22, 1907; dam Magnetic Ray, siro Golden Prince — 14gns. Lot 6 — Yearling heifer, calved September 18, 1907; dam Countess of St. Lambert, sire Little Jap — 14gns. Lot 7 — Bull Dominion, born August 30, 1906 (bred by Mr J. B. Lot 11 — Yearling bull, calved November 15, 1907; dam Lady Dreyfus, sire Prince Daisev — 9gns. Lot 12— Yearling bull, bred by E. D. McLennan, Papakura, Auckland (pedigree can be siipplied) — 14$gns. Lot 13 — Bull calf, born July 23, 1908; sire Blizzard, dam Lady Ida — 6igns. Lot 14 — Pure-bred heifer by Wild Cherry, in calf to Star Bright — 22$grm. Lot 15 — Pure-bred heifer, by Wild Cherry, in calf to Star Bright — 22£gns. Lot 16 — Pure-bred heifer by Wild Cherry, in calf to Star Bright; 12gns. Eight Jersey heifers, two years old, springing, by Bullfinch, and in calf to Wild Cherry, realisod 13Jgns, 10£gns, 9£gns, pjgns, QJgns, 13$gns, and 7gns respecticvely. Seven pure cross-bred Jersey-Ayr-shire yearling heifers realised 4Jgns each.
