GREYMOUTH, August li.

A fatal accident of a distressing nature occurred this morning, when a iynung man named Wm. Bird, aged 28 i years, was run over by a ballast train. jThe trucks were being loaded on an incline, when they moved off. Deceased tried to put on the brake, but he slipped and the wheels went over his legs. He was taken to the hospital where both legs were amputated. - At Bix o'clock this evening he died. Deceased leaves a wife ana two young ! children.
