PICKETING AT WELLINGTON.

P: James, S.M.;,today, Alexander Davidson, baker, and Walter Kilkqlly, labourer, appeared to answ^& -char ge . of \&la|trftilly 3assauH-; ingonfe James Heron, biiker, who had not gone on strike. The evidence phowed that Jesse Harlen,' president of the Bakers' Union, and the two accused went up from the city to Brooklyn about half-past two in the morning of the Bth inst. for the purpose of picketing Heron, who resides at Brooklyn. When Heron vas coming down to work, chase was given by Kilkolly. Heron struck him, and was thrust against the side of the tramway cutting. Harlen and Davidson were present. The Magistrate , dismissed the charge against $>avidson, and sent Kilkolly, who is a youth of 17 from Taihape, to gaol for 14 days. Davidson offered to undergo the sentence in his place.
