PROPOSED STRIKE OF MINERS.
[per press association.] Lon»on, September B.— The engineers' strike has extended to Aberdeen, LoitH, and Edinburgh. Mr Stevens, President of the Trades Union Congress sitting at Birmingham, in a speech, expressed the hope that all federations would unite in subscribing to a general fund to be used for meeting and combating the employers' methods.
Owing to proposals having been put forward by employers to restrict the output of coal, delegates representing ninety thousand colliers employed in the South Wales and Monmouthshire pits havo recommended tho workmen to ceaaa work next week.
