MR NEWTON KING'S WEEKLY AUCTION AND PRODUCE REPORT. At the Haymarket, on Saturday, pigs sold ■well, slips making 8s to 13s, larger sizes 14s to 16s Gd; horses were very dull, only one being sold at £8. At the" mart fowls made Is Id to Is 9d. ducks Is Id to Is sd, geese Is lOd; potatoes 4s, onions l£tl, wheat 3s 4d, cheese 4d, bacon s£d to 6Jd, hams 9d; sundries and saddlery gold at prices in favor of buyers. Cattle. — At Stratford on Tuesday the yards were nicely filled. There was a large attendance, and I am pleased to report that the sale was a marked improvement on those of late, and though perhaps prices were not a deal higher, still the toue of the sale was healthier, competition being brisk throughout the sale, comparatively few lines bciug passed in and most of these -were placed afterwards. Calves made 20i Gdto 275 ; yearlings, 40s to 43s 6d ; 18-months mixed, 53s Gd to 59s : 2J to 3-year steers 67s 6d to 85s Gd ; Heifers, in calf, 59s Gd to GSs ; store cows, 50s to G0» ; fat cows, 74s to 70s ; cows and calves. 80s to 88s 6d. At Waiwakaiho on Thursday tKere was a good muster of stock and fair attendance. Bidding was very dull at the start but improved somewhat as tliD snle progressed though low prices ruled throughout. Small calves made 15s to ISs, larger calves 21s to 28s 6d; yearlings, 37s Gd to 395; 2i-year steers, 70s; good 3-year steers, SOs; 18-month steers, oos to 5Ss ; heifers, in calf, 48s to 61s; springing heifers, Sos Gd to 100s ; fat cows, 70s to 82s. A pan. of prime fat bullocks from Mr A. J. Hoskin's made 120s.
