SALE OF MINES. Auckland, October 28. A cable advice has been received from Glasgow announcing the sale of the Tailsman and Honenga miacs, situated at Karangatike, to syndicate. WHOLESALE POISONING. Napiek, October 28. New 3 reachel town this morning that six persons have been poisoned afc JJeetham's Te Apiti station. The cause is supposed to be arsenic coming by some means in contact with the food. The sufferers are said to be seriously ill, «md medical assistance has been telegraphed for. Te Apiti is about fiftyiive miles from Napier. No farther particulars are yet to hand. D.I.C. ANNUAL REPORT. Dunbdin, October 28. The Direct Dunedin Importing Company's annual report shows a profit cf £7-182 which is appropriated as follows, dividend 7h per cent; addition to sinking fund £1500; and i per cent to the shareholders on account of purchases. FAILURE OF SATURDAY HALFHOLIDAY. Owing to very few of the warehouses and shops observing the half-holiday here, the labor demonstration suffered greatly by comparison with previous displays.
