HOUSEBREAKING.

A cask of housebreaking was reported to the police on Sunday. It seems that Mr Farqubar, who lives in Fleetwood Cottage, Garrington Road, in company with his wife and daughter, attended divine service on Sunday, leaving home at about halfpast ten o'clock. On returning home at about 1 o'clook, they saw one of the windows of the kitchen raised, and the back door open, it having been opened from the inside. On going into his study Mr Farqnhar discovered that £3 15a had been taken, and part of a bottle of brandy drunk. The police are making enquiries into the robbery.
